Major accolade for training and further development at euromicron

  • Chambers confirm the quality of euromicron’s training
  • Further education, trainee and junior staff programs expanded further.

The award bestowed by the Leipzig Chamber of Handicrafts on SSM euromicron GmbH as “a tried-and-proven provider of handicraft training” is the latest acknowledgment the euromicron Group has received for its training and further development programs. Leipzig Chamber of Handicrafts awarded SSM euromicron this accolade in recognition of the continuity and quality of its vocational training. “That strengthens our HR policy, which is built on the conviction that investing in the future of young people is worthwhile for a company,” says Bernd Ehrentraut, Director of Human Resources at euromicron AG. SSM euromicron’s Managing Director Andreas Büttner also regards the award as confirmation of his team’s enormous commitment to training at SSM euromicron. Back in 1991, Büttner was the driving force behind instigation of training for electronics technicians in the Leipzig chamber district. “It was and still is my deep conviction that we have to give young people career prospects in their home region. Preserving future-proof jobs that involve vocational training is also an economic necessity for companies,” explains Büttner.

SSM euromicron currently has 9 trainees. Given a total workforce of 70, that is an impressive ratio of almost 13 percent. “If our electronics technicians for information and telecommunications technology pass their final examinations, they are sure of a permanent job with excellent future prospects,” adds Büttner.

The Managing Director of SSM euromicron is also member of the Examination Commission of Leipzig Electricians’ Guild along with two other SSM euromicron employees, collaborates in the training and further education measures for technicians and is also involved in Leipzig Chamber of Handicrafts.
“The battle for the best brains can be keenly felt in our industry,” states Ehrentraut and continues: “Training our own junior staff and ensuring employees remain with the company long term by means of training and further development programs and clear possibilities for advancement are therefore key pillars of our human resources policy.”

euromicron will maintain a trainee ratio of around 6.4 percent in 2012, once more at a high level. 102 of the around 1,600 euromicron employees are currently undergoing industrial or commercial training and, after successfully completing it, will have good chances of obtaining permanent employment at one of the 14 companies in the Group with its around 20 locations and branches throughout Germany and in France, Italy, Austria and Poland. New subsidiaries that attached less importance to training before joining the euromicron Group are also increasing their trainee ratio out of conviction in euromicron’s training and further development policy.

The euromicron Group also offers extensive training and further development opportunities for young academics or highly qualified experts without a university degree in the shape of its sales trainee program and  intensive junior staff programs.
Just recently, at the end of August, 11 trainees successfully completed euromicron’s sales trainee program and are continuing their career in sales teams at the subsidiaries. Over one-and-a-half years, around 25 employees permanently undergo theoretical and technical further training in several courses designed to familiarize young people with the issue of personnel management and instill a sense of responsibility in this regard.
