The Supervisory Board of euromicron AG, a leading German supplier of intelligent and secure network infrastructures, appointed two new members to its Executive Board yesterday. Effective immediately, Thomas Hoffmann, who has been a member of the Board since 2009, will be supported by Bettina Meyer and Jürgen Hansjosten. Mrs. Meyer and Mr. Hansjosten thus succeed Dr. Willibald Späth, who stepped down from the Executive Board last week. Dr. Späth has done a lot for euromicron over the last 15 years. Both the Supervisory Board and the Executive Board would therefore like to thank him on behalf of the entire company.
“By appointing Bettina Meyer and Jürgen Hansjosten, we are broadening the management level and relying on two experienced candidates who know euromicron and the industry extremely well. I am certain that the new Executive Board will continue to develop the company successfully together with the entire team at euromicron,” says Dr. Franz-Stephan v. Gronau, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of euromicron AG.
Previously Head of the Legal Department at euromicron AG, Mrs. Meyer will now serve as the Board member responsible for the areas of Finances, Legal, Human Resources, Compliance and Auditing. Mr. Hansjosten was previously Managing Director of euromicron networks GmbH and will be taking over responsibility for the area of Operations in the future.
Thomas Hoffmann will be responsible for the functional areas Strategy, Corporate Marketing, IT, M&A and Capital Market Communications.
As part of the change in the Executive Board, the Group strategy and therefore also the Group planning for 2015 and the strategic planning for the next few years are to be reviewed. This doesn’t mean that the company will be moving away from its previous strategy, but rather specifying it and adjusting it in order to be able to meet future technology-driven demands. The acquisition of a large company as a way of achieving a sales volume of EUR 500 million for the Group that has been communicated in the past is currently being postponed.
As Thomas Hoffmann explains: “We have established euromicron as one of the leading German suppliers of intelligent and secure network infrastructures over the last few years. The increasing digitalization in both the private and the professional sector offers huge opportunities for our company. At the same time, this development also poses challenges. Our goal is to capitalize on the possibilities that arise from the innovative solutions our Group has available and convert them into profitable growth.” The Executive Board will publish further details on the next steps in the strategy and the forecast for 2015 in the 2014 Annual Report.
