euromicron AG has become a partner of the State Government of Hesse in the field of electromobility. With the “Strom bewegt Elektromobilität Hessen” (Electricity Moves – Electromobility in Hesse) logo, the company now demonstrates that it, as an expert for intelligent network infrastructures, is one of 100 partners supporting Hesse’s government in creating a secure electromobility network in the federal state. Hesse is already one of the eight electromobility model regions sponsored by central government. As a result, euromicron is living up to a key component of its strategy, namely to position itself proactively in all major future and growth markets.
Electromobility is currently one of the most discussed future topics in Germany. The German government has set itself the ambitious goal of one million electric cars on the country’s roads by 2020.
So that this goal can be achieved, there not only have to be enough electric vehicles with a sufficient range, but also the ICT infrastructure required for electromobility: For example to recharge the vehicles, bill the electricity used and share the necessary information between the electric vehicles, transport network and power grid.

The federal state of Hesse is also planning to take part in the German government’s application process for an electromobility showcase region with a region that is still to be defined. The government has announced its intention to sponsor three to five showcase regions from 2012 to 2015. These regions are to present the efficiency and innovativeness of the Federal Republic of Germany and the companies represented in them in the field of electromobility to a national and above all international audience.
