Germany’s first model data center has been opened: “Presenting a data center, with its growing complexity and wide range of technology, vividly and comprehensibly,” is the clear objective of Harry Schnabel, the man behind the idea. With this new and unique type of showroom, the company Schnabel and its 17 partner enterprises have created a practical platform that enables decision-makers and managers to learn more about the latest trends and developments at data centers. Up to now, that was only possible from specialist literature and expert talks. Data centers are growing in importance for enterprises, which store and process much of their data in them.
True to the motto: touch and feel – the permanent exhibition gives visitors a look behind the scenes of a data center, showing what technology is required for such a hub, as well as how this technology works and is being developed further.
In his showroom, the initiator of this model data center in Germany, Harry Schnabel, aims to give data center planners, equipment providers, operators and users a forum where practical information on the latest trends and developments at data centers can be shared. This permanent exhibition presents cutting-edge, end-to-end data center solutions based on high-end components, security and risk management, the infrastructure and air-conditioning and emergency power supply systems.
One of the 17 well-known companies in the sector is euromicron. With its competence in fiber-optic technology, euromicron is an expert for end-to-end planning, implementation and integration, specifically for data center applications. This includes equipping the backbone network with the URM® fiber-optic system developed by euromicron itself, the access and monitoring system, complete equipment of the control center, including technical furnishings, visualization along with its partner Jungmann System Technik and the emergency power supply. “We feel certain that we will be able to present what we have to offer and an all-round data center solution together with prestigious partners and congratulate Harry Schnabel on this extraordinary idea, in which we are pleased to play our bit as a partner,” says Dr. Edgar Bernardi from euromicron’s Executive Board.
