Broadband communication has a new name: euromicron

  • euromicron demonstrates its extensive “Fiber to the X” competence at CeBIT 2010
  • Tailored, future-proof data networks across all available transmission media, based on fiber optics, by means of highly available copper cable or mobile communications technology
  • Development and production know-how, as well as comprehensive application expertise

euromicron, the specialist for network infrastructures, is showcasing its competence in fiber-optic technology at this year’s CeBIT. Under the slogan “Fiber to the X”, the Frankfurt-based high-tech group is demonstrating the possibilities offered by its tailored, future-proof networks. euromicron analyzes, plans, builds and maintains cutting-edge network infrastructures for broadband communication, as well as developing and producing the active and passive components required for them.

“In the near future, only fiber optic-based network infrastructures will be able to guarantee high-volume data transfer and the extremely high speeds required by Internet-based applications, as well as for transmitting voice, data and video in the fixed and mobile networks,” forecasts Dr. Willibald Späth, Chairman of the Executive Board of euromicron AG. “The potential applications are also converging more and more and demand network infrastructures with appropriate capacity,” adds Dr. Späth.
The group from Frankfurt combines smart applications from the fields of security, IT and telecommunications to create innovative customer solutions. euromicron is positioned promisingly in banking and insurance, industry and the public and healthcare sectors.

Fiber to the X:
euromicron’s X-fold expertise in broadband communication

FTTX denotes high-performance network infrastructures based on fiber optics, with X standing for the point where the glass fiber ends at the customer: at the home, office, desk etc. The various customer requirements demand many years of extensive experience so that applications and the infrastructure can be designed and transformed into tailored solutions that protect the customer’s investment. Thanks to its comprehensive network of branch offices in Germany and a growing number of European locations, euromicron is close to its customers. “However, our hallmark is that the various euromicron companies pool their development and production know-how in active and passive fiber optic-based components with extensive application expertise and so give customers enormous benefits that permanently meet the demands of an efficient and mobile information society,” states euromicron’s chairman.

euromicron illustrates this extensive competence at CeBIT 2010 with reference to eight examples:

Fiber to the Security – euromicron demonstrates here future-proof network infrastructures as the basis for powerful surveillance solutions for rooms, buildings and premises.

Fiber to the Industry – euromicron solutions enable mobile deployment of the optical fiber cable on the cable drum with a wall opening and wall-mounted splice box in a harsh environment – whether outdoors, in a building container or on the shop floor: fiber optic technology becomes mobile thanks to euromicron.

Fiber to the Building – euromicron presents its wide-ranging expertise in connecting buildings to a fiber-optic network.

Fiber to the Home – an application for which demand continues to grow and in which the glass fiber of the passive optical network (PON) is led from outside the building to the living area. A modular connection device (CPE: customer premises equipment) from euromicron’s MICROSENS® brand is responsible for distributing the triple play applications, for example.

Fiber to the Office – the glass fibers are also made available intelligently to IP devices in the office thanks to a mini switch from euromicron’s MICROSENS brand. euromicron’s own hybrid connector EM-RJ® is used for power-over-Ethernet requirements.

Fiber to the Unified Communication – euromicron offers solutions for integrated communications infrastructures which enable communication between people, teams and organizational units to be optimized.

Fiber to the Media – euromicron illustrates how an interference-free and tap-proof euromicron video surveillance system permits maximum  bandwidths for the video stream – even if the video signals for media and broadcasting applications grow further in volume in future.

Fiber to the Data Center – Data centers are the control hubs for all smart organizations. The structured cabling systems – components and solutions – offered by euromicron guarantee high cabling densities, a smaller footprint, efficient documentation, the very highest quality and disruption-free data transfer.

Integration – Innovation – Internationalization

Thanks to its proximity to customers, coupled with the combined development, production, distribution and system solution expertise in the euromicron Group, euromicron knows what network infrastructures the market wants and can keep on satisfying these needs with new product and value added solutions for its customers.
The most recent example is the new FTTH Central Office System eFOS, which euromicron is premiering in Germany at CeBIT. The innovative main distributor rack optimizes FTTH cabling by uniting transparent flexibility, maximum ease of use and ideal utilization of space.
Visitors to euromicron’s stand at CeBIT can also learn more about the mobile care center solution, which has been awarded a prize by Vodafone. The e-health solution for people who need help has been developed in the USA and is based on a technical innovation that simultaneously transfers voice, data and location information over the mobile network and so enables the elderly or people who require care to live at home in their familiar environment and yet be provided with quick and full medical ,treatment in the event of an emergency.

This is the 9th time that the euromicron Group is showcasing its portfolio of products and services at the world’s largest ITC trade fair, CeBIT in Hanover. “Once again this year, we expect to make many new contacts and deepen relationships with potential and existing customers, suppliers and partners. In addition, a number of key accounts have announced they will visit our stand. “We will meet with representatives from associations and intend to present our innovative solutions to selected specialized journalists,” says euromicron’s chairman.

euromicron AG is an all-round solution provider for communications, data and security networks. Its network infrastructures integrate voice, video and data transport wirelessly, via copper cable and by means of fiber-optic technologies. euromicron builds its leading applications, such as e-health, security, control or surveillance systems, on the basis of these network infrastructures.
Founded on its expertise as a developer and producer of fiber-optic components, euromicron AG is a strongly growing, highly profitable group that is listed on the stock market, has a medium-sized character and focuses on operational growth, integration and further market penetration, internationalization and expansion.
