A highly available, fault-tolerant network infrastructure is not only a crucial factor in the success of the Smart Industry. It also plays a key role for Critical Infrastructures, which are vital to society and the economy, not least due to the German IT Security Act. euromicron develops solutions for Critical Infrastructures "Made in Germany" on the basis of various transmission technologies. In particular telent GmbH – euromicron Group company – offers such vendor-independent solutions relating to networks and systems for enterprise and security-related communication and applications. It supports its customers in design, planning, installation, integration, operation and maintenance, as well as with further comprehensive services. With its more than 50 years of experience as a system integrator and technology service provider, telent is the right partner for public authorities and enterprises, in particular from the rail, transport infrastructure, energy, IT and telecommunications industries.

Use case

Billions of devices and sensors will be connected with each other and exchange (status) information in Critical Infrastructures in the coming years. Existing networks, such as the public mobile network, are not suitable on account of their lack of security, performance and technology. The objective is to establish a full-coverage wireless network to connect these sensors for the Internet of Things, for example on the basis of low power wide area networks (LPWANs). Compatibility of systems with each other is being worked on by a harmonization body called the LoRa Alliance. As a member of the LoRa Alliance, telent supports the efforts to adopt a harmonized LoRa standard. As a special wireless network for the Internet of Things and machine-to-machine communication (M2M), LPWAN is the basis for IoT applications, such as in the fields of industry, logistics and environmental technology, as well as from the areas of Smart Metering, Smart Farming or the Smart City
